clearer how bizarre much of what she said was. Here, for example, is how she

responded to Biden’s comments about how the middle class has been

short-changed during the Bush administration, and how McCain will continue

Bush’s policies:

Say it ain’t so, Joe, there you go again pointing backwards again. You

preferenced [sic] your whole comment with the Bush administration. Now

doggone it, let’s look ahead and tell Americans what we have to plan to do

for them in the future. You mentioned education, and I’m glad you did. I

know education you are passionate about with your wife being a teacher for

30 years, and god bless her. Her reward is in heaven, right? … My brother,

who I think is the best schoolteacher in the year, and here’s a shout-out to

all those third graders at Gladys Wood Elementary School, you get extra

credit for watching the debate.”

Honda will be unveiling a $19000 hybrid four door hatchback that gets 60MPG this fall- available next year. Maybe this will stop all those terrible GM ads bragging about 30MPG highway cars…they still don’t get it.
Beijing adds 1000 new cars a day to the roads, has over 3 million now, ten years ago they had 400 (not a typo) total. And you think gas prices are driven by speculators?
Sewage effluent in Santa Ana is cleaner than groundwater according to an NYTimes article…after purification. We’re gonna all be drinking it soon because “it’s too valuable a resource to waste”.
Lots more sailboats in Lake Ontario than powerboats. It costs a friend of mine with a 38′ cabin cruiser $300 to go from the Bay to the river for a drink and back. For you non-locals that’s maybe 15 miles if you drive around a bit. Two V8s…plus dockage, insurance and payments, all year round. Wouldn’t want to be a boat dealer…
Hearing obnoxious ‘Staycation’ ads from furniture dealers encouraging people to spend money making rooms in their homes look like hotels. With obnoxious Ferdinand J V/O….

Don’t boycott the Olympics, boycott the sponsors

China’s human rights and environmental abuses seem to be accelerating as we approach August’s Summer Games in Beijing. If you are angry with their treatment of the Tibetans don’t boycott the games, boycott the sponsors who are seeking to build their brands on top of these issues. The presence of the Games is focusing the world’s attention to a greater degree on China which does not seem to understand how world opinion is reacting to their shut down of a free press, propaganda and the deaths of hundreds of Tibetans.

Update: Protesters worldwide are targeting the Olympic Torch Relay and focusing on sponsors.
